I recently got a Bambu Labs A1 Mini for work and here is what I learned: It goes through a lot of waste filament You need to print a lot of accessories (such as a waste bucket, cable clips, etc.) Filament snags are no fun. When it doesn't print, wash the bed plate with dish soap/hot water and cold pull the filament from the nozzle. It opens up so many ideas for iteration that you will have a box of rejects but that is where the fun is. Also, all of the CAD modeling was done in Onshape.

Recently I embarked on a mission to turn the small closet in my apartment into a little printer den. This location will help keep the noise as low as possible, if you’re looking into buying a Bambu machine you should know they are not quiet, but that is part of the price you pay for speed. My pervious set up featured a printer a friend let me borrow that was much quieter and was able to sit on the floor next to my desk without causing too much distraction. This change also gives me some extra floor space, puts the printer in a more ergonomic position, and offers storage underneath the printer mainly for tools. The days of laying on the floor trying to swap hot nozzles and…

Instrumentation 3D printers and CNC machines are important tools and are commonly used in the engineering field. The use of 3D printers is to make your imagination come to life. 3D printers are connected to a computer where all of the design process takes place. One can create whatever model they are trying to think of. With that model, they can create dimensions, shapes, and anything they can think of. 3D printers are efficient because you don't need to create models by hand anymore; you can just use a computer to create them digitally. There are many different types of 3D printers that have different ways of creating models: Stereolithography, Selec…
